In this week’s episode of Podcast from Washington, NACCHO government affairs team members Ian Goldstein and Eli Briggs discuss the Executive Orders following the inauguration of Joe Biden, the 46th President of the United States, and Vice President Kamala Harris. They also discuss the release of $19 billion in COVID-19 mitigation and testing money being sent out via the Epidemiology and Lab Capacity (ELC) Enhancing Detection Expansion grants.  
 
Later in the program, Ian sits down with Kevin McGinnis, program manager of Community Paramedicine, Mobile Integrated Health Care and Rural Emergency Care at the National Association of State EMS Officials. They discuss community paramedicine and how these programs help to prevent older adult falls.

Later in the program, Ian talks about the development of the Healthy People 2030 framework with Captain Paul Reed, MD, Deputy Assistant Secretary for Health, Medicine and Science at HHS. Ian also discusses implementation of Healthy People 2030 with Bryn Manzella, MPH, the Quality Improvement Officer and Director of Quality Improvement at the Jefferson County Department of Health.
