In this week’s Podcast from Washington Ian Goldstein and Eli Briggs discuss the FY2019 appropriations bills in the House and Senate. They also discuss the opioid bills that passed the House of Representatives and has moved onto the Senate. Finally, they discuss the markups of the Pandemic and All-Hazards Preparedness Act of 2018.

 

Later in the program Ian Goldstein sat down with Carson City Health Director Nicki Aaker. They discussed how a small health department creates public and private partnerships. They also discussed the Pandemic and All-Hazards Preparedness Act Reauthorization after Carson City saw excessive flooding in January, 2017. Finally, the discuss the importance of the Medical Reserve Corps.
